There are many casualties of war, both on and off the battlefield. A community always mourns its losses but, occasionally, the obliterated and the vanished return to their doorsteps. Stories of their death may be false or exaggerated but, nevertheless, spread far and wide. The returned are the last remaining member of their squad. They are those brought back through extraordinary and arcane means. They are found on the battlefield again with no memory of their demise. They are reconstructed, more machine than human.
The returned possess a knack for survival and supernatural serendipity.
They will not waste this second chance.
The Returned play to find out what happened, where they came from and who they are going to be.
The Returned mechanics involve survivability and utilizing the mystery surrounding their past.
